Papua, Walking through its culture

 Day 1 Jayapura – Wamena

Upon arrival at arrival at Sentani airport of Jayapura in the morning and we will assist you for your connecting flight to Wamena. Arriving at Wamena airport, transfer to your accommodation, Afternoon shopping and preparation for our next day trekking to village.

 

Day 2 Wamena – Kurima

After breakfast, we will drive to to Sogokmo in the South of Baliem Valley where we will start your about 3 – 4 hours trekking to Dani village. The trek will be moderate passing Yetni river – Kurima district and Dani sweet potatoes garden and you may stop somewhere when meet local people and discuss about their life.  Arrive at village, your cook preparation for your lunch. After lunch visit Dani village till afternoon and back to camp and get afternoon tea / coffee while waiting your dinner. Overnight at simple local guest house – the house without bed, floor with grass only, so you may need to bring your own sleeping bed as weather a little bit cold around 13 degree Celsius at night while the day time around 23-25 degree Celsius

 

Day 3  Kurima – Wamarek

This morning, we will continue our trek with all of our team to Wamarek village via some Dani traditional houses with it is beautiful view and the highest points of our trek (1.800 m) above sea level.  Today our trek is 4 – 5 hours. Stop at small river for 30 minutes take a rest and you can soak your aching bones in the river. Noon arrive at Wamarek village and having lunch there, after lunch could visit Tangma village near of Wamarek. Dinner and overnight local house of Wamarek.

Day 4  Wamarek – Tangma – Sogokmo – Wamena

Today explore village for half day till having lunch. After lunch trek return to Sogokmo where we will drive return to Wamena. Arrive at hotel check in and free program.

Day 5 Transfer out

Transfer to the airport for you to get your flight for your next destination
